Edinburgh Solo Art Exhibition & Sale 2024
“Energy - Small Birds & Scenes from the Fringe”
This exhibition of small and medium sized collaged works for sale is for anyone who enjoys seeing colour and energy displayed in art. As a nature lover, you’ll enjoy seeing little birds of various colours and sizes. Locals will recognise some famous landmarks, and scenes of street performers from the infamous “High Street” during the Fringe Festival.
Having taken part in the Fringe, as a portrait artist, Karen wanted to explore her personal take on the Fringe. She is especially keen to capture the sheer volume of energy and some of the variety of the performers present on the “Royal Mile”. You’ll find movement in the artworks I have created of jugglers and various buskers.
Additionally, this exhibition sets to explore how the energy spent “performing” is rebalanced when the buzz of August is over. Karen says, “For me personally, I find emerging myself in nature and very many quiet places is essential to help me recalibrate. This has resulted in a love of observing small birds. In the exhibition you’ll find my take of some of these high voltage little creatures.”
Most of the small works are framed and ready for you to gift or simply hang on your wall at home to enjoy. The exhibition is suitable for all ages, if you like art come and have a look around. The artist, Karen van de Graaf, will be there daily and is happy to talk further about her art.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
