Explore the city's statues and buildings through a new lens as we share Edinburgh's role in the Transatlantic Slave System, the pan African movement and the World Wars. There are centuries of stories of musicians, servants, soldiers, sailors, students, professors and much more....
The gentle route includes rest stops, toilets stops and visits to beautiful buildings making it an accessible and comfortable experience and a chance to make new friends. Suitable for walking aids and wheelchairs with minor adjustments.
These tours are suitable for 13 plus, but we have special family friendly and school tours available too!
The tour leader is Lisa Williams - the founder of the Edinburgh Caribbean Association who runs education programmes and arts events to promote awareness of Black Scottish history. She is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh.
Meeting point: St Andrew Square, Edinburgh
