Poet Jackie Kay shares Scottish lullabies from her debut children's book, with interactive arts activities for families.
We are thrilled to welcome Jackie Kay for a special reading of her heartwarming debut children's book, 'Coorie Doon: A Scottish Lullaby Story'. Alongside Jackie Kay's reading, illustrator Jill Calder will be leading interactive art activities for families.
Enter the cosy world of Shona, a wee lassie who falls asleep each night to her parents' soothing songs — 'Tiree Love Song', 'Goodnight, Irene', and 'Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?'. Together, we'll follow Shona's journey through her dreams and revisit her as an adult, sharing the tender ritual of song with her elderly father.
This beautifully crafted picture book captures the essence of childhood lullabies, rooted in old Scots folk songs and sung with lyrical charm.
Perfect for families with children aged 3 and over. Tickets for children are £5, and accompanying adults are free.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
