St Mary's Music School is hosting two Summer Schools and one Summer Short Course this year.
Vocal Summer School
Dates: Sunday 27 July - Friday 1 August 2025: Residential
Designed for classical singers aged 14–18, this five-day course offers expert tuition, vocal coaching, and masterclasses with renowned professionals Miranda Wright and Karen Cargill. Ideal for singers Grade 7+ (or equivalent), with up to 100% funding available for fees and travel.
Piano Summer School
Dates: Sunday, 3 August - Friday, 8 August 2025: Residential
Description: A dynamic course for pianists aged 12–18, offering expert tuition, masterclasses, ensemble opportunities, and performances. Perfect for young musicians looking to enhance their skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Led by Acclaimed Pianist Helena Buckmayer. Up to 100% funding available for fees and travel.
Improvisation Short Course
Dates: Friday 8 August 2–10 August 2025: Non-Residential
Discover the art of improvisation in a supportive and creative setting! This unique course is open to young musicians of all experience levels and offers the chance to develop confidence and explore diverse musical styles. Led by Hilary Michael, with assistance from Anna Michels, participants will delve into melodic ideas, rhythmic patterns, and group improvisation while drawing inspiration from art and nature.
