CLAY: Amphora Wine Fair
Edinburgh's inaugural amphora wine fair is here!
On Sunday, 16th February 2025, we're transforming Stockbridge's Sotto Enoteca & Trattoria into a showcase of exceptional wines from all over the world!
These ancient clay vessels have been making incredible wines for over 8,000 years, from Georgia's qvevri to Italy's anfore to Spain's tinajas. Today, they're creating some of the most exciting wines in the world - pure, distinctive, and beautifully expressing their place and origin.
Join us to taste a lot of very special, and absolutely delicious, bottles from our fantastic merchants, explore award-winning wines, and be part of this remarkable wine renaissance.
During the tasting, you'll receive a special clay cup to drink from - a tribute to ancient traditions. Stay tuned for more exciting announcements to come!
What to Expect:
- Taste exceptional amphora wines from Georgia, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and beyond
- Take home a specially commissioned clay cup by Claire Henry Ceramics
- Exciting masterclasses from: (I) Mako Abashidze(80-20wines) on the wonder of Qvevri's and Georgian Wine; & (II) Mateja Gravner(Gravner) exploring their legenday Ribolla ! (booking details TBA soon)
