From the crew that brought you ‘A Girl Gets Naked In This’, a series of monologues about sex, student-run People You Know Productions presents ‘Table for Two’, a platter of duologues between characters at the tables surrounding yours at your local bar.
Overhear an awkward birthday gathering, waiters waiting, the Udden-Wentworth scale, a woman thirsty for change, a provocative suggestion, impromptu marriage counselling and an unruly tiff. This past september, we selected thirteen student-written duologues to be workshopped by our writers, co-directors and producers before rehearsals with twenty-four actors. Instead of working with a unidirectional line of communication between editor and writer, the workshops were intended to dissolve these roles in favour of peer collaboration. In this way, everyone involved from devising to performance wholly shaped this sell-out show.
Expect laughter. Expect tension. Expect gravel. This Bedfest, enjoy a shorter iteration of the series that was hailed by St.Art magazine as ‘a quintessential crowd-pleaser, sparking endless laughter, catching every shade of character and hilarity, riot and subtlety’.
