Don't worry, beer happy 🍺
With spring on the horizon and our beautiful beer garden slowly heating up under the sun, our next epic-value exclusive ticketed event celebrates ESF's most sold product: beer!
We’ve teamed up with our good friends at Cold Town Beer (named after the iconic Calton Hill that looms over the windows of Edinburgh Street Food) who've been brewing excellent hand crafted small batched beers in the centre of Edinburgh since 2018. Perfectly pair those beers with ESF’s award-winning street food and we've got ourselves one helluva evening!!
Join us at Edinburgh Street Food at 7pm on Tuesday 25th of March for a speciALE evening hosted by beer educator and certified cicerone Chris Queen and Cath McCluskey from Cold Town who have spent years immersed in developing beer advocates in Edinburgh.
(Choose from a vegetarian menu or a meaty menu - please note two beers contain dairy, hence no vegan option for this tasting)
The Line-Up…
Welcome drink: Pint of Cold Town Lager 4% ABV - A slow, cold fermentation gives this craft lager it’s delicately refreshing, crisper body
Meaty Starter: Chicken Pakora fried in a crispy spiced batter with chutney from Haldi
Vegetarian Starter: Paneer Pakora fried in a crispy spiced batter with chutney from Haldi
Paired with Pornstar Martini Ale 4.6% ABV - this foray into the modern world of mixology with a brewery twist is full of lactose & vanilla to ensure a silky rich texture, whilst passion fruit and summit hope culminate in a sweet, zesty zing that lingers in your mouth.
Meaty Main: Railway Chicken Curry (classic chicken curry with a tangy, aromatic gravy), served with fluffy basmati rice from Haldi.
Vegetarian Main: Mixed Vegetable Coconut Curry served with fluffy basmati rice from Haldi.
Paired with Baltic IPA 5.3% ABV - fermented at a chilly 15°, this IPA is clean and crisp, allowing the mosaic hops to shine. This beer is vegan.
Dessert: Rich, chocolate Cold Town Topic Thunder stout cake with signature cream cheese frosting from SoftCore.
Paired with Topic Thunder 7.0% ABV - a full-bodied rich, dark liquid boasting a luscious, velvety texture with notes of caramel, dark chocolate and roasted hazelnut.
Tickets cost ÂŁ30 per person include a welcome pint, 3 more Cold Town beers plus 3 street food dishes, all in the quirky and colourful surroundings of Edinburgh Street Food.
Please note, this is an intimate tasting with just 40 tickets, ESF is open to the public as normal on the 25th of March with no entry fee.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
