Pysanky is the art of writing on blown goose eggs. There are many symbols and colours that all have their own meanings, which you can use to decorate your blown egg using wax and dyes in various orders to build up a picture on the egg. the end image is revealed when all the wax is removed from the egg. Every egg is unique and beautiful. Advice and demonstrations will be given and all materials, and refreshments are included in the price.
Ukraine has a long history of decorating eggs dating back to 800 AD in the Carpathian Mountains there lived a giant monster who would send his minions down to the villages and towns to check if people had decorated enough eggs. If they had the world would be safe for another year, but if they hadn't then the chains around the monster would loosen and he would reek havoc and destruction around the world. His name was Pekun.
