The Edinburgh Festival Fringe returns for its 77th year in August. We're thrilled to announce that, for the third year running, TikTok will be the Official Virtual Stage of the world's largest performing arts event.

As the Official Virtual Stage, TikTok will once again enable global audiences to embrace the next generation of Fringe creative talent. This year, as well as working with many TikTok favourites who will be performing throughout the festival and hosting the Festival Fringe Society's London launch event, TikTok will be supporting venues through in app credits and a venue board partnership; to help iconic Fringe venues build their audiences and drive ticket sales.

And there's more. . . For one night only, TikTok will present the Variety Show, bringing together some of the biggest names in TikTok and the Fringe for one incredible night of comedy and performance!

So, whether you are heading up to Edinburgh to soak up the festival or embracing the action from afar, here's how you can experience the magic of the Fringe with TikTok.

TikTok presents: The Variety Show
TikTok and Off the Kerb Productions are thrilled to present The Variety Show, as some of TikTok's most-loved performers will take to the iconic Udderbelly stage, for a two-hour variety show on Wednesday, 14 August.

Hosted by TikTok starlet Coco Sarel, The Variety Show will star TikTok favourites and Fringe icons, including Joanne McNally, Abi Clarke, Christopher Hall, Henry Rowley, Kim Blythe, Shabaz Ali, Reuben Kaye, Fatiha El-Ghorri & Sugarcoated Sisters, with even more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Many of the stars will feature in the Variety Show will also be heading up to the Fringe with their own show, so there will be plenty of opportunities to see your favourite performers live on the stages of Edinburgh.

Let TikTok be your guide to the Fringe
If you're heading to the Fringe and want to be in the know from the start, then let TikTok be your guide. Follow the official @EdFringe account, and the TikTok accounts of Fringe venues, for the latest performances, news and behind-the-scenes content.

If you're soaking up the atmosphere of the city, discover all that Edinburgh has to offer using Places. From the best restaurants to historic landmarks, uncover the hidden gems that go well beyond a traditional travel guide, collated and recommended by the TikTok community.

It Starts on TikTok
As the home of up-and-coming creative talent, TikTok will be working alongside the Fringe Festival Society to support emerging talent across the performing arts scene.

From providing workshops to masterclasses with experts, TikTok will showcase how any aspiring performer can use the opportunities the platform has to offer to reach new audiences and publicise their shows.

Melissa McFarlane, Head of Operations TikTok, UK, IE & Nordics said: "We are delighted to partner with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society for a third year running. As the Official Virtual Stage, we aim to connect global audiences with the next generation of Fringe creative talent."

"This year, as well as working with many TikTok favourites who will be performing at the festival, we are thrilled to support venues and to host the London programme launch event, as we continue to celebrate the whole Fringe community, both on TikTok and beyond."

Shona McCarthy, Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, said: “We're delighted to welcome the return of TikTok to the Fringe this August as the virtual stage of the festival. With TikTok at the Fringe, artists will have the opportunity to be discovered by new audiences who can engage with them virtually and then experience the live show here in Edinburgh. It’s been a pleasure to work with the TikTok team over the last three years and we look forward to welcoming them to the Fringe this August.”
